Hi Lexy, I was unsure what I wanted to do right out of high school but knew I wanted to pursue something in business. I chose to go to a juco and transfer. I went to Portland State University in Portland, OR as well as University of Oregon. Both are great schools!

Hi Emily,
I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a finance degree. The Belk College of Business within UNCC has a wide variety of opportunities for individuals as well as the Niblock student center. I knew plenty of marketing majors during my time at UNCC and the marketing department is full of resources that equip you for success.

Hi Lexy!
I went to Rowan University in south NJ and it is also AACSB Accredited. If you have an interest in Finance, they recently revamped their business school and also have a stock market room with Bloomberg Terminals. I chose Rowan originally based on their Accounting program and then switched to Finance after developing a stronger interest in that field.
Best of luck!

University of California, Irvine has a really great and competitive business program. And because of the location of the school you'd also be exposed to a lot of resources to companies before you even graduate!

I went to Boston College and we have a great business school! Many students have gone on to top companies from the Wall Street to Meta. That said, there are many other schools that also have excellent education, resources and guidance for a successful career in business. From the top of my head, here are some great business schools:
1. NYU
2. USC
3. UPenn
4. University of California, Berkeley

Hi Lexy,
I graduated from the University of Minnesota in Mpls. I didn't know what to major in so went in as a pre-med major but changed this in my junior year to Psychology. My counselor told me all businesses need managers and all managers need to know how to speak with people. I began my career in a call center and worked my way up to management and am now an HR Business Unit Leader. I went back to school to earn my Masters in Business Administration. I'm fortunate that I use my degrees everyday at work and in life.

There are countless colleges that are known for their strong business presence (Michigan, USC, Villanova). It is more so connected with your performance at the school and connections that are made along the way. There are many skills that companies value that are deeper than the name of the university attached to your name.

University of Georgia- Terry School of Business. They have great connections to Deloitte, KPMG, EY, coca cola, Georgia power, and many other companies in Atlanta. Hi Lexy! Though I do not have a business background, I graduated from a university that has an awesome business school! Penn State University Smeal College of Business is a great way to start your career in the business field -- with many areas for specialization. Perks of going to Penn State include the countless networking opportunities through student-run organizations, career fairs, internships, alumni association events, alumni mentoring, and more! I would suggest checking it out!
However, something to seriously consider, which I wish I had when I was entering college: take your first two years of gen eds at a branch campus or community college. Going to Penn State is an experience I will never regret; however, my gen ed courses could've been completed elsewhere at a much cheaper cost. I was an in-state student with some of the semesters paid off and I still left with $60k debt...So, I highly suggest considering that route, even if you go to another university!!
Best of luck! Take advantage of internships, workshops, office hours!! Business students' success thrives on networking and opening doors. People can extend olive branches, but you also have to be willing to go out and fight for the experience you want! It is important to enjoy your college experience and have fun! But do so smartly! Set your future self up for success :)

Commenting on my own post to add that Penn State also offers online education, if you don't want to relocate! Something else worth considering! It's all about what your goals are for your undergraduate career!

Hi Lexy,
This is a great question! I also studied business in college - specifically accounting, but I explored my options freshman year.
To be honest, there are so many great colleges out there that it makes it easier if you have certain preferences.
When you do your search, think about do you want in -state or out of state? Large college or small? Private or public?
I live in California and knew that I wanted to go out of state for sure. However there are good public universities in California for business such as UCLA, USC, UC Irvine, Santa Clara University, and San Jose State if you are interested! There are also private colleges such as Chapman and Loyola Marymount with good business programs.
I definitely knew I couldn't get into ivy-league type of colleges so I focused on more regular well-known public universities that had famous business schools. My two main options were Purdue (in Indiana) and UIUC (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign). In the end I chose UIUC because when I visited I loved the campus atmosphere, which is another important factor for you to consider.
There are also schools for business in other states - such as UPenn, Penn State, NYU, Columbia, etc.
Make sure to do research if you figure out what type of business you probably want to study so you see how their programs are ranked.
Good luck!
