Angela’s Answer

First of all, great you want to enter the teaching/education world! We need more teachers. Now to your question, there are several universities and colleges that are promoting a "fast track" approach to graduting before 4 years. However, this might require you taking summer school courses as well as winter classes. However, if you ask me, those were my favorite times to take classes as it seemed more straightforward without the "fluff". But you will need to also pass state required exams to teach. Each state has different standards so make sure you look into the state department of education to see what their requirements are. Best of luck!

Mel’s Answer

Education is essential in order to advance and be the best you can be in your chosen career. Per Jason's post, there are also state regulations that you have to adhere and be aware of. Check the requirements from the State where you plan to pursue your studies and where you plan to work/apply what you've learned.

Jason’s Answer

You can go through school/college as fast as you can possibly can however there are state regulations that will stand in the way of your plan. Most teachers need to pass an exam called the PRAXIS (I am not a teacher). I don't know when you take this test but in addition to being "qualified" to even sit for this exam, each state more than likely requires a specific amount of "student teaching" which is usually a full year outside of your normal college studies. I would find the education requirements in the state you plan to have your career play out and see what they are.

Laurie’s Answer

Education is such a noble career choice, thank you for wanting to give back to your community. Teaching requirements vary from state to state, so you would need to confirm your state requirements. Any degree can be completed in an accelerated pace, but you have to be committed to the time constraints.
