Hello Rylan M.,
I believe the best part about being a business intelligence analyst is digging into data. Understanding how all parts of a business come together into a data lake and become able to pull the necessary data elements into required reports, dashboards, etc.
Because all data ultimate comes together, you also get to work with all parts of an organization, forming connections and understanding the overall business better than many.
I hope this helps,
Best of luck!

For me personally, I enjoy working in Business Intelligence because it allowed me to work with senior management to understand the requirement as well as working with the end users to understand the data. The really exciting part comes into play when your running queries/reports and putting the data together (charts, drill downs, dashboards, etc). If you enjoy working with data and solving problems then this is something that you would definitely enjoy doing.

Understanding how things really work and what is important for the business. For me the technical challenge is secondary, also i find it less creative, as there are usually best practices for most of the work.

The intelligence analysts I work with love two things: 1) working through big complex problems, and 2) organizing or approaching large amounts of data in a logical way, creating structure. Their work is challenging as they are trying to find insights from data that allow us to take action. Sometimes it takes a lot of research and analysis to come up with a data-driven answer to a question.
