Hi Corvon, Technology is a very vast term and offers multiple options as well. You can be developer, support, hardware support, data analyst and many more. Its up to you and your interest that which profile you opt. Plan your career interest and learn regarding that. Its easy to balance your work-life in IT , only you need to give 100% in your shifts and keep yourself updated with skills. Normally you will invest 8-9 hours for office work. With time as you get experience the job requirements will increase but your comfort and speed of doing your daily task will increase and hence you will feel relaxed and satisfied with your role.

Hi there, Corvon. Hope you are having a good day!
Working at Dell Technologies is great. I'm a recent hire who's been working for about 10 months at Dell. I'm currently in the Accounting Development program, and while I do not take part in creating the hardware that we sell or even partaking in promoting/selling our products or services, I record journal entries for some of the products/services we sell.
Regarding my daily schedule, well, it varies from day to day, but you always have something to work on. Additionally, the working from home flexibility is great because you can begin work at 8 from the comfort of your home rather than being at the office at that time.
I hope this answered your question.

On average you will find that developers interface with other developers across multiple time zones to complete tasks. It's usually up to the individual to manage his or her time accordingly depending on the project scope and delivery timeline. I normally reserve my collaborative work for early mornings and plan out my afternoons for completing heads-down type tasks. Eight to ten hours per days is usually a good measure of productive time per day. Good luck!

Life of a technologist! Technology in itself is a very broad term encompassing multiple roles and disciplines within it. Depending on the role and discipline, life can vary A LOT!
In my 16 years of career, I have been through multiple roles and areas of work. There have been times when I could not get an iota of sleep for more than 48 hours when we had a huge production crash and impacted business heavily. There have been times when I did not need to work for more than 6 hours a day. So you see, it can vary A LOT!
In terms of types of work, a technologist's day job could be to code and build programs that perform activities as per stated business needs and include business logic, if he is a software specialist or developer. If he is a hardware specialist, his work may involve replacing faulty disks in data centers. If he is a software architect, then he will usually have the full picture of the system he is responsible for and how each piece interacts with the other. If he is an enterprise architect, then, he will interact more with the C-suite and be involved in overseeing, improving, and upgrading enterprise services, software, and hardware. A team of architects may report to him who would be individually responsible for looking after the sub-systems.
Now, these are just examples. There are many many other roles and responsibilities that I have not covered. And I focussed mainly on computer science and information technology. But I hope I could explain a tiny bit.

Hi Corvon K.
What time do you wake up?
It depends on the company, if you have flexible hours you could have a 2 hrs window to enter from 7am to 9am
What are the people like there.
Again, it depends mostly on company culture and obviously people are all different, groups and behaviors are made by people so even changing 1 of the members you could see huge differences.
do you fix computer or program them.
It depends on the role, a system admin, system engineer is more on the configuration part of the systems, while a developer is more on the programming side of the application layer on top of the computers.
I hope it helps, I kept answer short and easy.

Hi there , I am developer in software tech company with 11 years of experience.
I would say it depends on the team and project , there are some projects are time sensitive and complex in nature, some are having enormous time and no pressure.
By general, it is 9-6 job with good work life balance. With work from home option now days we could save travel time ( if you are in Traffic heavy cities it will definitely save around an hour)
We may need spend some extra time sometimes due to project delivery deadlines and nature of the work.
Thanks
