Any school that teaches you programming best practice is good. Best practices means that it's just not coding, it's everything else that you need to understand to be an effective code that companies will want to hire. It's all the indirect items that make up the details needed to be an IT professional who codes. For example, understanding the difference between waterfall and agile development methodologies.

If you’re not yet enrolled in college you can explore courses available through community and technical colleges in your area. Start with a simple/ general overview course if possible. If you enjoy the intro course it should give you more perspective on next best steps, what type of code you want to write first, etc. An intro course could also provide you the opportunity to meet others with similar interests.
Good luck!

There are many good colleges where you can learn to code. Do your research, find a college that fits your lifestyle, and one that has good reviews for computer science. Depending on you finances you can start at a community college and transfer to a four-year college.
