To be an EKG technician, you must have a formal education, such as an associates degree or postsecondary certificate or diploma. Many employers also require professional certification. Many colleges and universities may offer both associates and bachelor's degree programs in cardiovascular and vascular technology. You also need to complete an EKG technician program and get EKG Certified.
