Reba’s Answer

As a prior pediatric nurse I will tell you it is a very rewarding career. It is not a career for the faint-hearted. As a pediatric RN you will experience many tough patient cases, however, you will also have the opportunity to be the best part of a child's visit to a healthcare facility. Children who are sick, hurting, or just in for a preventative visit can benefit immensely from a nurse who goes to the extra mile to help them and make them feel comfortable. School is tough but to get through it you need to keep in mind the end goal. A job a a pediatric RN will provide you with stability and flexibility, but also give you the opportunity to make a difference in the life of every child you take care of.

You could keep your self motivated by feeling proud of yourself. Only on this matter you are thinking of yourself, later on you are thinking about doing some thing good to the society and people who are in need. Be more dedicative towards this.
When you give something back to society, that happiness is something else which is not beatable by anything else. Hence I said you can keep your self motivated by being proud of yourself.
Of course there will be nights without sleep for may be study or may be for duty but that is what brings the real meaning to the job of nurse right.
Its all about being selflessness and doing good to others. Seeing happiness in somebody else happiness is what service and Nursing is mainly service based job.
Be Good Do Good. Very all the best for your career.

Keona,

I hope you can find the motivation by knowing that you are doing great things as a nurse. You are changing people's lives. You are seeing people at their worst and you have the ability to make things a little better for them. My husband and I have both had some scary days in the hospital and our nurses were amazing. They kept us going. They made us laugh when we were scared. I honestly don't know how they do it, because nurses have to see so much pain and suffering. But if you can handle that, you really will have a job that impacts lives every single day.

I think so very highly of nurses. More highly even than I do of doctors. I hope you are able to pursue it and I wish you the best in whatever you do. I know it is not easy, and I also know that it's not something I could do. Just remember how important you are to the people you see each day.

Best of luck in all you do!!

Molly

Renee’s Answer

Nursing school is a commitment. It was not an easy task but if you outline your educational plan and keep focused on the end goal you can do it. I dedicated my free time to studying. I utilized educational videos and books that helped me further understand things by simplifying into a more straightforward process such as the incredibly easy books. I was not able to go do fun things because my time was limited so nursing school became my priority with all my free time. If I had any issues I utilize campus resources and connected with other nursing students to form study groups which really helped out a lot. I am not going to lie there were times I felt like I wanted to quit but I established a great group of nursing students as friends that I am still friends with to this day. You need all the support from friends and family but most importantly you have to make the commitment to yourself as with any schooling. Motivations comes from having the determination to meet the goal you have set for yourself. Trust me it is well worth it because in the end there are many options in the field of nursing. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy so set your goals and go for it. I am the first college graduate in my family and my son followed in my footsteps but on a different career path. Knowledge is power and opens doors to many great opportunities. Good Luck!!

Bailey’s Answer

Nursing school was extremely hard. I was always studying and trying my best. My personal motivation was to become someone. I am the first one from my family to go to college. I was very determined to graduate. I say “find your why” and that will help motivate you.
