Kenyana’s Answer

Here are some classes that I found to be very interesting/entertaining in college:

1.) Human Sexuality-This was the most sought out class at my school. The professor made it entertaining and fun for everyone.
2.) Nutrition-Sounds kind of basic, but it gave you great insight on eating healthy in college.
3.) Any Sociology courses-Liberal Arts classes gives you a balance from the standard basic courses.
4.) Foreign Language- So very important to know a second language for personal and professional reasons.

Good Luck! Hope this helps.

Hi Kemi, you have to first think of a career (what you would like to do after college) and then you can pick some classes after that to help get you there. It's also okay to change your career goal too. I would suggest taking classes that interest you and you are passionate about them- from biology to communications/business to a language course- each class brings different value depending on what you want to do. For me communications would be a great class I would recommend because you would need it no matter what career you decide on!

Hey! Good question. I think this is something that lots of people wait too long to ask themselves before starting school :)

I'd break it first into thinking about what you want out of school. There is no right answer here of course. But even in the process of thinking about your why is extremely valuable!

I'd recommend finding classes that meet at the intersection of what you love, what you are good at, and what the world really needs. I believe your question is most about what the world needs. The good news: we need a lot! Depending on your skills, I'd recommend thinking about problems in the near future: AI, Energy, Healthcare, and more!

Kim’s Answer

When you go to college, they will tell you the "basic" classes you have to take. (Math, English, Science, Foreign Language, History, Political Science - just like HS!) When you declare a major, they will tell you what classes you need for your major. They will be specific for your major. Then, there are a few left-over classes, called electives, that you will get to pick. There will not be many of these!

I encourage you to take a course called "Logic." It will teach you to think, and analyze what you read. It is a very good course, no matter what you do in life. You will use it both in your personal and professional life. It is usually taught in the Philosophy Department. If the Basics do not include a Speech/Public Speaking class, I would also encourage you to take that. As you go through your career, you will need to be able to present your ideas to others, This will help prepare you for that!

Good question!
Kim
