Hello,

First off, I notice that you are posting from San Jose. Currently, Anesthesiology Assistants are not permitted to practice in the state of CA. In fact, the majority of states in the US no longer allow AAs to work in their states, I believe only ~18 states do. These states are primarily in the southeast United States, think Texas, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, etc. Also, there are only around 12 remaining AA programs in the US, which are located in those previously mentioned states.

If you are okay with moving, then in order to be accepted to one of those programs, you would first need to have a Bachelors of Science Degree and have completed coursework in subjects like biology, biochemistry, chemistry, organic chemistry, mathematics, physics, etc. After this, you could then apply to the 2 year AA program.

Best of luck!
