How hard on the body is it for a cement layer and finisher?
I would like to know how much toll it takes on the body for you to be out all day every day laying concrete.

This is a labor job at the beginning it can be very hard. But with time your body can get used to it so it might not be hard on your body after a couple of weeks.
Thank you for sharing your perspective.

Hi Dustyn, similar to David's response, cement laying is a labor intensive job, but has many upsides! I worked in construction and home inspection for several years and here are my pieces of advice from the industry:
1. Make sure to stretch before you start the day. This really helps to ensure you don't injure yourself
2. Bring plenty of water and lots of snacks
3. If your employer allows it, having a speaker or stereo helps keep the day moving and makes things fun
4. You will definitely be sore for the first few weeks so be sure to get good sleep and allow yourself time to recover while your body adjusts
Pros:
1. You will stay in great shape
2. You will always have a tan, but sunscreen is your best friend
3. I found that I had the most energy when in a labor focused job as I was constantly moving and completing tasks.
4. I made some great friends from this industry because you are usually working with one or more people on the job and can develop great relationships
