What can I do after I graduate?

I'm a senior in high school and I work in an RCF but I thought about tattooing, cosmetology, CMA, or just keeping my job. I know I have options but i just need help.

Priyanka’s Answer

I think you need to follow what excites you and challenges you the most. A career is something you will do almost every day, so it needs to be something you can spend a lot of time doing while constantly learning and growing. For example, it is possible to have a career in tattooing but then have cosmetology as a hobby. I would say do what you will have fun pursuing for a long time and making money off of! I used to do photography as a career but then I ended up learning that I hated making money off of it and wanted it as a hobby alone so it was fun only and not work! Also don't be afraid to try things and then switch paths. Nothing is set in stone and you are never locked in to one career, especially with the options you've listed. Hope this helps!

Galdino’s Answer

It's great to have work experience under your belt already. I don't think there is a rush to pick a life long career now, so an option would be to try and work in each interested job and compare how you like each one afterwards. After that you will have a much better understanding about your interests and may pick one of your options or maybe none of them at all and look for something else. The main thing is just to try many different things before making a big decsion.

Danah’s Answer

I became a 911 Dispatcher. All you need is a high school diploma, drivers license, and a clean criminal background. I stayed in the profession for 20 years and I loved every second of it. I felt like it was incredible to be doing something that allowed me to give back and help out my community. Sure, it was stressful and required long hours and working nights/weekends and holidays, but I truly loved every second of my career.

Indra’s Answer

Hi Josie,
Indra here, reaching out from the Netherlands!
I have had many jobs after graduating but would like to give you one piece of advice;

Always follow your dreams as this will lead you to find a job or role that you are passionate about.

This will then turn into a career filled with joy and self-development.

Making another person rich is one way to go, but finding the perfect work/life balance and pleasure in what you're doing was my ultimate accomplishment.

Take care and all the best to you!

Best regards.

Indra H.

Through your career choices It seems you like working directly with people. You need to look at what schools are available for the careers you have listed where you live and the price to attend . If you have to attend a school in another state can you afford it?
