Would it be better to own your on shop, or to work for another big shop?

I was wondering this, to see which one is worth more of your time. Which would be more successful, a mechanic that owns his own shop, or one that works for a shop?

Hello Daniel, what a great question. I would always say it's better to own your own business when the time is right. I think that when you are first starting out that you still have something to learn. If you work for someone you can learn all the shortcuts and who you can count on to help you. You will know when it's time to Strick out on your own. I wish you the best

Molly’s Answer

If you are just starting out it might be best to work for other shops to see how they run things. Maybe even a few different shops before you open your own so you can pull from your experiences on what worked well and what didn't work well. Then you'll have a good idea of how to be successful.

I wish you the best!

Molly
