How do you become a k-pop star?

I really love BTS and Blackpink so I am wondering do you have to be korean to become a k-pop star and do you have to have pale skin like koreans. I have already started to learn korean. How do you become a k-pop star?

Thank you comment icon I can't answer for myself, but for my daughter. You like it? Enjoy it. If it pushes you to learn Korean Language, go for it. We also watch Korean tv series and we enjoy them very much. Did I mention we live in Puerto Rico? There is no Korean language teaching here, but, K-Pop lover are doing everything to learn this language. Have fun! Rafael Ledesma

I would start by asking yourself why being a k-pop star appeals to you. Is it the performance aspect, or is it the attention being on stage? Being a star on any level is more of the endgame, so be comfortable with the smaller steps it takes to get there. If you enjoy the performance part, look into dance or acting classes to get comfortable on stage. Start learning an instrument and practice singing to get comfortable with music.

I doubt there are any K-pop stars here who can answer this question. I'm certainly not one, but my random thoughts are...

Knowing Korean would help. or at least, being able to speak/sing it phonetically. You wouldn't necessarily need to understand what you are saying, but should be able to pronounce it properly.

Beyond that, becoming ANY kind of music star requires a lot of talent and luck. There is no magic formula that guarantees success, else everyone would be doing it (well, a lot more would).
