Marty’s Answer

I have participated in amateur NHRA drag racing for over 30 years. Its quite a rush to feel the acceleration and competition. I started early by getting involved with mechanical repairs, and once I had my driver's license, purchased a car for racing. It takes a lot of financial and personal time commitment to both prepare a car and yourself. You can look into sponsorship after you begin to have some success. There are schools all over the US where you can get skills and even pilot a true race car. IMHO, if you truly plan on making a vocation out of professional racing, staying single is a wise move due to all the travel and again, the huge time commitment that must accompany your goal. Good luck!
