Hey Tamadrey!!
Physical fitness is important, yes. Others have shared some about this and healthy eating.
Another recommendation was studying for your ASVAB - This is very important because some of the jobs in the lower score ranges will feel like a drudge and may lead to an unhappy career. Definitely study, definitely get good rest, and definitely eat a good meal before your ASVAB. Most questions are thought-based like "If this happens first and that happens second, what would happen third?", Gears and pulleys for example. There are also pattern recognition questions. Reading and Vocabulary questions are probably the ones that will be most situational. Good luck with this!
The recommendation I would add to this list is that most of the training is regimented and stressful by design. So keep your head on straight and take deep breaths. If you don't panic, you will succeed.
Pay attention to the little details - They matter!
Don't get angry with your team - They are also stressed and teamwork is mandatory.
Try to find the fun - Sometimes it all sucks but there are fun things, focus on those!
Best of luck in your endeavors!

A great way to prepare for the military is to study for the ASVAB. You can take an online practice test that benefits your actual test. It is essential to have a high ASVAB test score when enlisting into the military because it provides more open-door opportunities for jobs you can apply for when enrolling. Eating healthy and researching the Physical and Combat Fitness Test scores you need to pass to qualify to enlist in the military are also beneficial. You should also expect to be mentally and physically broken down to enable you to train in your worst conditions as you may experience in the future in combat situations. Just understand that this is only a tiny fraction of your time in the military and all the benefits the military offers to make this small moment of your enlistment worthwhile. Always remember to stay positive in the military!
I appreciate this, thank you for the advice.

Hello Tamadrey, thank you for your question. To answer your question there really is no way to become prepared for enlisting in the military. I can however tell you that boot camp isn't about who is the fittest, in boot camp their goal is to break you down then build you back up into a solider. Also, this is just as much a physical test as it is mental, try and remember you need to keep your mind clearly don't overreact when you are treated unfairly take a deep breath and suck it up. They are looking for signs of strength and weakness that in itself will determined how your time in boot camp goes. Best of luck
Thank you for the advice.

Great question!
Physical fitness and mental preparedness are two of the biggest factors when considering something like Green Beret. Learn more about the community and some of the qualifications it takes to succeed in that specific career field first. Then, develop a plan to help you achieve this goal!

Hey there,
Physical and mental readiness is key for the military. Each branch has physical annual requirements and you need to be able to do them and get a good score because yes it’s graded. That can determine if you’re in out, if you can do that they won’t let you in. Then mentally you need be ready, they thing that got me to boot camp is, “nothing is personal it all business,” because DIs and drill sgts are getting payed to scream at you and get you out of your comfort zone. After for done you will realize that they are people too with families and hobbies. Even realize how they actually care about you.
