Do you have to go to college to receive a LPN ?
I was trying to research the process on how long the career takes in general. So people say you can do a non-college course and some people say you need college courses.

For LPN/LVN school - thre are technical/private schools that offer these programs, they can be expensive. Some junior/community colleges will offer these as well. These are only certificates/license and not degrees so you won't need a 4 year university. You should check your state's requirements and see which programs offer them. You can also get an RN license through a junior college which can also get you an AA degree.

You'll need at lease one year of education and hands on training. There's LPN classes you can take or attend college. Look at my medical classes.org.

Hi, Lania!
You do not need to go to a 4 year college. However, you will need to take additional courses after high school to become an LPN. A lot of community colleges offer these classes, so I would look into some local community colleges. I think it's typically a 2-3 year degree depending on how many courses you take a semester. I hope this helps!

The best place to learn about the education requirements in your state is your State Board of Nursing. They should be able to list the education requirements as well as accredited programs in your state. I live in Oregon and have been licensed in Washington state and Idaho.

I’m not sure if there are other options, but I know that technical colleges offer LPN certifications/degrees.
