Nicole’s Answer

Hi Jordan,
What I love most about being a Nurse Practitioner is connecting with my patients and developing long-term relationships with them. Caring for people is based on your relationship with them - if they trust you, they are more likely to allow you to provide their health and mental care. Just continue being yourself around your patients when you become a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Medical Doctor - people will appreciate you being real with them. Love yourself and they will love you too!

Blessings to you!!

Toya’s Answer

Hi! What I like most about my career choice is having the opportunity to help people of all races, ages, ethnic backgrounds, and socioeconomic status when they aren’t feeling their best. I kinda know that being a mental health counselor is my calling and that’s what I’m supposed to do.

Corky’s Answer

Hi Jordan! Great question. I spent many years working at the bedside as a registered nurse. Once I decided to go back and get my advanced registered nurse degree I was ready to transition from nurse to provider. It has given me an opportunity to use my skills, education and training to be more impactful in the lives of patients I care for. Being a patient advocate is a huge part of the nursing profession. Being able to diagnose, treat and manage all aspects of patient care is what I love most about being a NP.
