Hello Kourtney, thank you for your question. What made me want to pursue a career at this point was when my husband retired from the military, there was such a need for real help from the military to assist the services members other than that two-hour class you were put through I just decided I wanted to help I didn't want anyone to have to go through what we did. This was a great impact for me as a woman because flies or military families it's not just the service member in the service the wife and family put in that same amount of time which is often overlooked. Lastly when I first entered college years ago business management was my major, I wanted to be able to have a career as well as raise a family, so I knew I that I would be able to use my management skills. One of the biggest misconceptions when I was growing up was that running a household wasn't really work, as a woman I felt a need to dispel that stereotype. The field you've chosen has lots of possibilities. Best of luck

Hi Kourtney, great question. I chose Business Management because of the belief that it would open up unlimited doors for me. The skills you learn are generalized enough, that you can take them into any interest (for example if you are into fashion or sports, you can search for a business-related role in those industries). Business is a universal language around the world, every industry needs it, and therefore jobs will always be abundant.
Having the freedom to choose my career path more than once is very important to me, as I don't want to feel bound to anything. With business, I feel that there are always new doors opening and the ability to change paths whenever I feel ready to do so. I work in HR right now, however, I may find interest in another area of business altogether in 5-10 years. As a woman, I was searching for a job that provided a professional identity, and financial freedom. I believe I'm on the path to reaching both outcomes. Lastly, in HR specifically, I feel that I am able to work towards creating more equitable opportunities for employees, which is really cool!!
Starting with a Business Management program will be a stepping stone to exciting things.

I have always been fascinated by the idea of coming up with an idea and then seeing it become a business. When you think about business management, you can go several routes - you can open your own business, you can work for an already established business by helping grow the business. I love setting strategies and coming up with innovative ways to make business easier for both the employees and customers.

Great question! I chose to pursue a career in business strategy because I enjoy solving problems, synthesizing ideas, and building helpful solutions either internally for co-workers at my company or externally for customers. A business management role likely involves working with lots of different stakeholders. If you're a people person who enjoys hearing different perspectives, this may be a great fit.

I choose business management because I have both the analytical and data skills necessary.
I have also developed my leadership skills and I am able to develop strategic partnerships.
Stealing from the above response, whatever task you perform, approach it from the perspective of "managing" that task: what are you ultimately trying to accomplish? what is the timeline? what resources do you have or do you need? etc. Everything you do can be approached as managing a project.
