As a medical Assistant the 3 important things to know is as follows:
* You gain knowledge of front office and back office business function and how it works. Having both skills is a great asset as you build your education and continue into your career.
* You become a part of a team to help the community you work in.
* Its a rewarding career for starting out or for older individuals to master.

Hi
First you have to decide what speciality you want to work with. If you have some back ground knowledge of the speciality you want to work with, your life will be very easy and you will be more productive.

Crystal’s Answer

Medical Assistants are really important to the proper functioning of a medical office. From my experience, a good MA can really make the nerve-wracking experience of going to the doctor more pleasant. Friendliness, patience and good listening skills are important. Also, you'll need to know how to use a computer really well, how to take patient vital signs and draw blood (so you need to be comfortable with that) . Being super-organized and efficient with time management is also a huge plus because most MA's have multiple tasks each day. Hope this helps!
