Anh’s Answer

Unfortunately, it will not be quick.
Step 1: You start working at In N Out or a similar company (fast food burger place). Ideally, you would pursue an internship with a rotational component.
Step 2: Get as many roles within the organization as possible
Step 3: Supplement your experience with education (management courses, company-sponsored training, MBA)
Step 4: Any one of these will work. Take on a challenge with high visibility to the Ellingson family. Perhaps seek out their social causes and show leadership there. Develop strong personal relationship with an Ellingson.
Step 5: Profit.

I agree with Anh's earlier answer. If you're in it for a quick buck, there's no fast path to becoming a CEO unless it's your own company. Certainly not at In-N-Out. If you're set on In-N-Out, the Snyder-Ellingson's founded it and have built out a unique business. It's not franchised. So getting exposure to parts of the business, and/or applying for corporate positions within their company would be a start to moving up.

Alternatively, you could try working your way up in a competitor or other hospitality or services-based company, and build relationships with In-N-Out, which might lead you to be a candidate for leadership within their organization in the future. But since this is a family-owned business, it seems less likely. Don't give up hope though.

Getting back to your "I simply want to make quick cash" statement: In-N-Out does offer great entry-level positions to help young people, including students, to earn money. Similarly, Costco and Starbucks are reputable organizations that also do, including certain employee benefits. Put your feelers out there, and don't be afraid of hard work, and "just get started" if you're looking to make cash. Good luck!
