The electrical field is wide open, you can do so many things. The options are out there. Simplest part of electrical is usually the installation of cables because you follow prints in commercial situations and in residential. Then you need to gain a simple understanding of power and think of it like water flowing. Switches are like doors or gates, that you can open or close to let the water through, plugs are like sources of water, that you plug into to let out the water that is waiting. Really if you have a normal memory, you can learn and do electrical. The schooling is simple algebra and math. You can get into more advanced levels, if you wish. Main thing is there really is a job for about anyone in the field, depending on your abilities and knowledge. You can learn and grow and advance as far as you are able. I think it is a great career. Just remember that the water must flow out to the light or plug and then flow back to source; simple loop. It gets a little more complicated with switching, but really that is the way to do it in your head.

Electronic components, motor and system controllers are where you get into complications, but you build up to that, so don't be afraid to give it a try and see if it works for you.
