Connor’s Answer

Yes, a financial advisor recommends investments to clients. Such people may work at companies like Edwards Jones, Northwestern Mutual, Raymond James, etc. A financial manager works for a business and oversees specific financial functions within that business. Many different companies offer financial manager jobs and must have an understanding of financial ratios, income statement and balance sheets, and focus on generating a profit.

Juliana’s Answer

Yes! A financial advisor is more skilled at understanding individual investments for personal wealth. A finance manager is generally looking at the health of the business and can cover a broader range of things, such as planning, budgeting, ROI (return on investment) analyses of business strategies.

You can look on www.indeed.com or even www.linkedin.com to see descriptions of these jobs to give you an understanding of what each entails and how they are different.
