What steps do I have to take in order to become a hospitalist? Do I have to become an RN? What will college look like?

I am a junior. I just want to know how many years will each step take and what are the steps.

You go to medical school and do internal medicine training. Most of your training will be in inpatient medicine -you’ll get some outpatient training also . Then just work hard and you’ll get better and better at what you do while being paid.

Hi Aliciana,
I just learned something new - what a Hospitalist is! Based on the definition, you are a physician. Therefore, you will need to go to medical school.
The whole post-secondary education process may take 10-14 years: 4 years of an undergraduate program, 4 years in medical school, and then 3-7 years in a residency program and to become fully licensed.
