Hi Alan!
What are your career goals? Looks like you'd like to program for a living. That's great. Those jobs pay well and have a good work life balance. There are a ton of free learn to program information sites on the web. And Youtube has more content being created every day than you can consume in your lifetime. Just dig in. Lots of guys like making small games and such to get started. That may interest you. If not figure out what you are interested in outside of programing, then program something for that. Like if you are into dogs for example, create some kind of program that has to do with dogs.
I feel like I could give you a better answer if we discussed a little bit more about your goals and challenges. If you agree, please add some comments below. I'll respond to your comments.
Wishing you hard work and a little bit smart work!

Understand what interests you outside of programing
Think about a program you could create for your interest above
Search the web and YouTube on "How to create your first program"
Keep reading and watching and listening until you understand
Write your first program
