I would start out with a degree in Computer Science for a strong foundation. Pick a programming language that matches the type of engineering you ultimately want to pursue. For example Python is used by a lot for cyber related engineering. The most important piece of advice I can give you is believe in yourself, learn something new everyday and don't give up. You will be successful.

Thank you for your question. I am glad to hear that you have passion in Technology.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Choose a simple programming language to start with, e.g. Python, Scratch, etc.
2. Learn the syntax and structure online
3. Start doing some simple programming first, e.g. control a toy car, robot, etc. Practice makes prefect!
4. After you familiarize one language, you can start learning another one
Having said that, I would recommend you to choose Computer Science as your major in the college. It can give you an overview on computer theories and different programming languages.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Hi Javien,
Based on your question, I can't tell whether you have any background in coding.
What I would recommend is to try the free online Hour of Code (https://hourofcode.com). This would give you a good idea whether you truly like to program and if you decide you do, then additional courses are available at https://code.org/
If you already know how to program, my favorite is https://www.khanacademy.org/computing/computer-programming
It's structured and has multiple sections covering the basics of computer programming.
For cybersecurity and IP Networking, you'll need to become familiar with the basics - my favorite is https://www.grc.com/securitynow.htm
Search for a term, for example 'Internet' and select the "SecurityNow!" tab after the search results are listed. You can find by far the clearest and simplest explanations for everything here. How LANs Work, Part 1 (https://www.grc.com/sn/sn-027.pdf) explains in simple terms how an IP Network works.
Best of luck and wishing you success.

Assuming you are in high school, take courses in computer programming such as Python or Java or Java Script of your school offers these options.
Do well in Math (Calculus, Algebra, etc.) as well as in Science subjects.
If offered take AP courses and score them well.
To pursue cybersecurity, either take Computer Science major or Computer Engineering which requires EE.
Also, take courses in AI and BI if offered in the univ.
There are not enough engineers in this field, work hard and score well in SAT/ACT with good essay along with volunteering will land you in a good school.
My son went to Rutgers and recd Computer Eng degree to land a job at Amzn where starting salary was in six figures. He had to pass 3-hour test. Cybersecurity firms also pays handsomely if you pass their test which is very common nowadays. They will give you problem to solve (multiple).
