Baljit’s Answer

Hi Jayden,
College is known as the best years of your life. It's a time to explore your interests and become independent if not already. There is a lot of researching to do as far as majors and what you think you would be good at, also what you are interested in. It's a once of a lifetime opportunity to explore what's available to you.

Ivy’s Answer

College is a great experience that helps prepare you for life on your own. It teaches you responsibility and accountability because nobody will be checking to make sure you attend class and do your homework. It also helps you learn how to get along with others and gain exposure to the subjects that interest you in order to prepare you for your career choices. It will be the first time you experience the freedom to make your own decisions, and it is very rewarding!

College is an introduction to what is out there for you to pursue. It is your time to gain exposure to new interests, ambitions, hobbies, sports, career path choices, and learning how to manage responsibilities you have not had before. You get to meet a lot of GREAT people, make new life long friends, learn from professors and career professionals that will inspire and drive you. Your connections and interactions in college will be extremely valuable, they will open up career and job opportunities that you wouldn't usually have. Make sure to get involved in social groups, perhaps sororities/ fraternities, social clubs, sport teams, or anything else to meet a ton of people! There is no place better to make connections than college. If you do not know what career path you are interested in, that is totally ok! College is the time for you to figure that out! If you are unsure of what you want to do after college - take different classes until you find your interest. The best advice I was given was to find something you like/ passionate about, and something that seems to come easier to you than your peers. That is probably your sweet spot. You are in charge of selecting the courses you are interested in (apart from your first year introductory ones). You are also financially responsible for each class you take (and books, and dorms, and food), but there are a lot of great scholarships out there to help. This is the time for you to learn about yourself and what is out there in the world. Best of luck to you on your college journey :)
