There are a number of search engines that help you find scholarships. I've listed a few below and if you have a good guidance counselor, they should be able to help you find others. Other places to think of are any local organizations that you or your family may be part of. If either of your parents are veterans they may be eligible for additional education benefits that can be transferred to you. If they are part of organizations like the Masons, Elks, or others they often offer scholarship opportunities. And some employers offer scholarships contests as well.

Hi Madison,
Congratulations on thinking about your future and posting for guidance here, this is a huge step! It looks like the Bay Area Foundation has scholarship opportunities here. https://bayfoundation.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=174
P.S. I found this by googling "bay area merit based scholarships" which could be a good next step as well as posting here. Good luck, and kudos for reaching out for guidance. :)

I assumed you're looking at college scholarships. when you apply for colleges, they usually look at your applications and assess whether they can give you some scholarships money, so talk to your school counselors, they have a lot of information reducing the tuition cost. Bear in mind, those usually require you to sustain your GPA in college, otherwise, they get yank from you. You have to look at the package carefully. My kids got merits based scholarship for UC but it varies (from full to partial). If you look for additional resources, there is usually scholarship based on ethnicity, they usually are not a lot but every little bit count. In the end, we did a lot of reading and also talk to the potential schools, they usually quite good in answering the questions. This also apply to out of state schools, we were usually consider a couple of them and visit a few too.
Thank you, Peter for the advice.
