Katelyn’s Answer

Not PA school, but I left PT school after a couple semesters after not really making it through neuroanatomy and struggling a little bit in general. I had a bachelors in health administration. I spent one year as a claims processor, then got lucky to find a position in the population health space which I was generally unfamiliar with. From there I was really able to grow and started learning data analytics. I’ve now worked my way up to being a high level senior analyst and absolutely love what I get to do. I work with data to show outcomes, help drive decisions, and help drive patient outreach. I’m also somewhat responsible for data integrity in one of our databases.

Katelyn recommends the following next steps:

Explore what pieces you did and didn’t like about PA - I liked staying in healthcare in general
If you’re really feeling lost, I’ve found the Strengths Finder book/quiz to be particularly accurate about what skills you have, which can be helpful in looking at possible next opportunities
Thank you comment icon I appreciate this, thank you for the advice. Erhiga
