To become a Nurse Anesthetist who administers anesthesia & pain releif to patients during surgery and other medical procedures can take 7-8 years, it requires a DNP or DNAP degree and then you get Certified registered nurse Anesthetist.
It takes 7-10 years of education and training. In addition to earning a four-year bachelor of science in nursing (BSNK) and passing the National Council Licensure Exam for RNs, you will need to complete a doctor of nursing practice (DNP) or docotr of nursing anesthesia practice wihich takes arond three years.
Afer completing the doctoral degree, you must pass the National Certification Exam (NCE) administered through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.
The demand for CRNSs is very high right now and they expect that to grow by 12% between 2021 and 2031.
Hope this information helps!
