Michael’s Answer

So, I've had several friends who've taken several pathways.
1) Major in Biology and then head to med school
2) Major in anything, but with a pre-med focus, do a post-bacholor's to gain more experience, then go to medical school.
3) Many medical school admissions folks have said to me that it doesn't matter what students major in because they will reteach you everything you need to know in medical school.

Megan’s Answer

You would need to get a Bachelor’s degree with a Science Major like Bio/Chem. Then after you complete that you will take the MCATS and apply to medical school. After 4 years of medical school then you apply to your residency program of choice I believe the Surgical Residency are anywhere from 4-7 years long depending on the specialty this is where you actually train to become a surgeon and get paid a little bit while still learning. Good luck on your future!
