While you are still in High school make it a priority to "Shadow for a day " as many jobs as possible, this will give you a good comparison as well as help you make your decision easier. This doesn't mean that one you choose one direction you will be confined. Each experiance you gain in any profession opens other doors to new adventures. Once you determine where you would like to start your journey it will be much easier to walk through other doors of opportunity to gain other experience .

Thank you for your question. This is very common questions to many students.
Below are my suggestions:
1. Think about what you have interest like your hobbies, your favourite subjects, etc. and identify the related jobs
Eg if you are interest in Maths, would you like to be an accountant, banker, engineer, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc.
If you are interested in music, would you like to be a singer, musician, composer, music producer, music teacher, etc
2. Find out more on these careers and identify what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek advice from your mentor, school career counsellor, your parents, etc
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in the college
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Give yourself time and space for trial and error. You could start with your dream job and go from there. I will tell you my personal story: My whole life I wanted to be a veterinarian, but when I interned at a vet clinic in high school, I fainted when observing surgery, so I knew this wasn’t the right job for me. In high school, I played sports and developed an interest in nutrition, so at university I majored in sports dietetics, but loved my class in child development so switched to pediatric dietetics and have loved it ever since! I knew this was the right job for me as each decision led me in this direction, I really enjoyed it, and the job matched my skill set so it didn’t feel like work but an opportunity to utilize my strengths to help others.
