How would one select their medical specialty?

I have an idea of what I want to pursue in the medical field, but is there any way that I can ensure it is the right choice before I plan to study it?

I say, before you choose a major you hate and embark on the road to medical school I'd get a job as an allied health professional(pct, cna, emt, lmt,, surgical tech) this way you'll have all the flexibility to go anywhere you want in the medical field. So you'll know if for example that nephrology is more your gig vs cardiology. Or if you're really set on bring a doctor. Look into PA school, you can go anywhere with that too
