Hi William,
To become a veterinarian you are required to complete 4 years of college including (Associates, Bachelors) make sure you follow up with your college to figure out the pre-requirements needed to submit an application for veterinary school which would add another 4 years of schooling. In total it will be 8 years of schooling.

I love this question! I work with a lot of students who want to be veterinarians , I see a lot of them come through our office as an Academic Advisor in the Arts and Sciences department.
If your school has Zoology major that’s gonna be your best bet! If your school doesn’t have it you will want to major in Biology (B.S. Biology) can help you get into veterinary school. Also something that may be a bit more helpful outside of Biology as a bio premed track if your school offers it.
Additionally, what you want to do is research some of the veterinary schools that you want to go to and see what the requirements are (are they looking for specific classes that they want you to take prior to being admitted). They may require additional classes that may not be included in your initial track and in your undergrad so you want to make sure that you’re checking all those boxes!
Of course every school is different and you may end up at the school that offers another option that may also be suitable for what you’re trying to accomplish.
1: Zoology
2: Biology/premed
