Hi Elijah,
My dad is an electrition and for him, the best part is helping people and being able to do something with his hands. He's always been interested in this field but joined later in life (in his 50s) and so that career change is something that he is super proud of and happy about.
I would say it's a pretty respectable job that is both reliable in growth (people will always need you!) and it pays well.

My first job was as a lighting engineer, which was initially a very hands-on role and involved wiring complex lighting fixtures and control panels. I also spent a lot of time on-site, working with electricians installing these systems. For me, the best part was powering-up and seeing a room, hall, atrium, or any other space light up for the first time. Think about it: electricity is one of the most important things that brings a building to life.
Large sites could be really exciting places, especially in the days before a big job finished up. Electrical work has a great combination of working with your hands and working with your head. You have to plan your work carefully, and above all it has to be done safely and by-the-book! My experience was generally on big sites, but I can imagine domestic work suiting someone who likes to meet people and help them with their needs.
One last thought: I found myself up ladders a lot, so a good head for heights is helpful :-)
