Rana’s Answer

Make a list of your goals and list out your short term and long term goals. Set a date for each one when you want to achieve them. Be reasonable with each set of goals you place as in can you achieve it with the time specified, do you have the resources you need to reach them, are they realistic goals (budget/time/place) can some be pushed out to later example 5 years from now.

Kate’s Answer

Hi there! First I would research about required steps to achieve your goal (pre reqs, MCAT, application cycles if you want to go to medical school). I would have a clear understanding of these things and list them out so you can check them off once completed. I would also recommend shadowing and working (if possible) in the field you are considering (if pre med this can include any type of surgical tech job, medical assistant, CNA etc...). It is important that you are able to observe real life of a physician. Let me know if you have any other questions and I can try and help!

Leanna’s Answer

Great question! Future planning is so important. If you have clear goals that you aspire to achieve, you're already one step ahead. I would recommend setting interim milestones that you believe will help you to reach your long-term dream. From a professional development standpoint, this could include taking up hobbies that are relative, volunteer work and networking.

Thank you for your question. This is a very common questions to many students. I am glad to hear that you have your dream career.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Find out more your dream careers. Sometimes, there may difference between the reality and what you have in your mind
2. Speak to someone who are working in these careers.
3. Find out the entry criteria of the relevant subjects in the college
4. Attend information session of the relevant subjects held by the college. Speak to the professors if you can
5. Explore any intern opportunities working in the industry
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
