Thank you for your question. I am not sure you are referring to the college or high school. I would answer assuming you are looking for the right colleges.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Think about what careers you would like to pursue in the future. This is probably the field you have interest.
2. Identify the relevant subjects on these careers
3. Explore the colleges that offering these subjects and the entry criteria
4. Find out the ranking and reviews on these colleges
5. Attend the information session offering by the faculty of the colleges. Speak to the professors if possible in the information session.
Hope the above can help to select the right college suitable for you! Good Luck!

From my experience I chose between schools by first researching and making pro/cons lists and second visiting the school. Things to consider for pros/cons are cost, majors offered and how they relate to your career goals, success of the school, graduation and 1st year retention rates, and location just to name a few. Of course include anything else that you find important (on campus housing, driving, gym, amenities, social events). Then visit the school and see how you feel just being on campus. I thought I really wanted to go to my first choice undergraduate school but when I visited I realized I couldn't see myself living there. I chose my second choice and loved every minute of my college experience. Hope that helps!

If you can, visit the school. All of the above things are great but also the feel of the atmosphere is important. Other things to think about are where the school is, proximity to a city or in an rural area. Proxumigy to home,, if fR away you may not be going home for Thanksgiving. Size of the school and classes. Cost always matters, look at how many kids get financial aid.
Make sure the school as a whole is a good fit.
Don't be pressured to any one school, it is a lot of money and time and you don't want to hate it or end up with non degree.
