Be happy!
It sounds like the simplest advice one could ever give Kevin, but it’s so true. Be happy! Life is far too short to live in misery. See the positives and don’t dwell on the negatives. Every single person in the world has hardships and everyone in the world has something to be thankful for. And we will always have both at the same time. It can be so hard to keep a positive outlook, but we all owe ourselves the effort it takes to focus on the positive. Life is too short to be anything but happy.

Thank You Nicholas. Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.

Nicholas’s Answer
My goal in life is to feel fulfilled and productive in the roles and activities I am doing as well as trying to be a positive and cheerful person to all who I encounter. As John said, there is a lot of negativity in the world today and people are just mean. It is so much easier to be kind and smile at people as it makes everyone feel good about themselves. Fulfillment and productivity are a big part of the equation for me. If I am in a position where I do not feel that I am contributing to anything meaningful, I am not going to be motivated to do my best. I have realized this pretty early in my career which is nice as I am able to decide the types or projects I work on that will provide the most value. I hope you can find something that you enjoy doing where you feel productive and fulfilled. At the end of the day, that is really all we can ask for in a career.
