I'm not sure this is the answer you're looking for, but I graduated college with a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. I work in telecom and love it. Didn't really use my degree all that much but have been in this field now for 20+ years.

Daniel’s Answer
I graduated from a Systems Engineering degree and more than a few classes were directly related to Electronics and I loved them, at the end of the day I'm not entirely applying my Systems degree knowledge nor the Electronics side of it, I work too in Telecom and I'm too loving it, the whole aspect of it, it encapsulates a little bit of everything, programming, commands, electricity, mechanics, radiofrequency and management.
So what I'm trying to say is that I think its better to ask if you are interested in the big area that is Engineering , and then select what you feel attracted to, it could be Electronics, Mechanics even Chemistry and at some point if the choices you make and if your life brings you there you could end up actually applying the exact degree you chose or like us finding another area that brings out a passion you never thought you had.
