Honestly I don’t think any classes prepared me for medical school. I precept medical students and I’ve noticed the ones that had a job as a scribe do so much better. I think having that experience and then going to medical school will help you immensely.

In order to be a doctor, you have to take biology and chemistry classes, so it helps to have taken these classes as early as high school, so you aren't seeing them for the first time in medical school. Otherwise, you should take classes that are interesting to you, which will incidentally help you get good grades, which are an important part of your application to college and medical school.

If you decide to go to medical school in America, then you have to do your bachelors, which take four years, then medical school, which is another four years. After that, you have to do at least one year of residency in order to become a general practitioner, however, most people decide to do at least three years of residency so that they can be a specialist, which opens up more career choices.

If you feeling like doing something completely different, you can do what I do and go to medical school in Cuba. You can go directly after high school, as long as you've done college-level (AP) classes in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics, and medical school takes six years, but it's completely free. Then you do residency in America just like you would have done if you had gone to medical school in America.
