Like many different programs, where you decide to pursue your degree can influence how much the degree may cost. If you live in a state that provides lower in-state tuition, you may go to school cheaper compared to if you decided to go to a private college (tend to be more expensive). Location also may also influence the cost of rent (for off campus apartments) and other factors that do with the cost of living. Scholarships received also many influence the cost of your education as well.

Hi,
If you choose in state community college that will be cheaper option range may be $2,500-$15,000. The next option is Public college it will cost you little more may be $9000-$20,000, next option is private college that can cost $15,000-$40,000.
Or you can choose foreign Universities also if you like to travel and to know the different culture this can be option and you can apply for scholarships there is lot of national ,international scholarships and there is some scholarships for girls only . There is lot of options out there . community college is going to be the most affordable. however you can only get an associates degree. that is fine if you never plan on becoming a nurse practitioner. but if you plan on getting an advanced graduate level nursing degree, you will have to get a bachelor's degree in nursing. you cannot get a bachelor's degree at community college. i recommend an instate university for a bachelor's degree. if you think there is any chance at all you will want a graduate degree in nursing (a master's degree or or PhD) then skip the associates degree and go straight for the bachelor's degree. it is too costly and time consuming to get both an associates and a bachelor's. you are paying to repeat a lot of the same courses. additionally, i HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT GO TO AN ONLINE UNIVERSITY FOR A YOUR FIRST NURSING DEGREE! it is very costly and the programs are mediocre to very poor. finally, before you go to any school for any medical degree first make sure IT IS AN ACCREDITED SCHOOL. if it is not you won't be able to get a license and work afterward. all your work and debt will be for nothing. some great ways to get a medical degree with little debt: 1) join the military on a nursing scholarship 2) after you graduate work in an underserved area like a reservation. you will get paid to work there and get 100% percent loan repayment if you work there two years (my boyfriend did this). 3) ask around at local hospitals. if you work as a nursing assistant or medical assistant in a hospital a lot of them will pay for your nursing school. i worked as a nursing assistant at st. mary's hospital in tucson when i was in nursing school at u of arizona and they gave me 75% books and tuition reimbursement. it helped a lot! also working as a nursing assistant is where i really learned what nurses do too, not college. you have to take course at community college to be a medical or nursing assistant. i recommend you go to community college for this as opposed to places that only teach medical assistants because it's going to be 1/3 of the price. or cheaper. price compare. if it's quicker to get into the expensive place, just wait. it's not worth it. some hospitals offer their own in house medical assistant courses (I think) that are low cost or free but you have to agree to work there for a year or two afterward. you have to sign a contract. this a good option too if you can work there a couple years afterward.
hope this helped!

Dan’s Answer

I would strongly recommend that you first find the nursing school that best meets your needs . Never completely rule out a school, even though its listed costs may appear to be unaffordable for you. The final cost( after scholarships/financial aide you receive) may end up being much less than you think and something you can afford. The good news is that whatever your costs may be, you should be able to recoup a lot of what you will have spent, considering the income you will likely receive once you begin working in your field of nursing.
