Get into a trade union! I figure someone will tell you the obvious ones, so here’s some of the less know jobs in construction.
- Safety Subcontractor, responsible for making sure people wear PPE and follow safety rules.
- Fire Proofing, involves praying thick coating onto structural supports, and caulking/mudding
- Fire Alarm technician. It’s like an office job, but you take your laptop into the jobsite and troubleshoot alarm systems
-Scaffolding Carpenter. You build a safe place to work for other trades to do their job

Join International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
Google other trade unions that interest you. It’s the best way to get free training
