Annaleigh’s Answer

Hi C!
A lot of what motivates me to get up in the morning and work is the project I am working on! It helps so much to be passionate about what you are working on and keep in mind your personal goals and how you are reaching them!

When I am feeling stressed at work the best thing I can do it to reach out to those around me. Support systems are always what matters most, and working with those who can help when you need it, and vice versa, is essential. Related to that, communication with my co-workers is professional and timely, which is always very important for a workplace.

Richard J (Rich)’s Answer

Here are my view to answer you questions. I come from both a military and industry background and have been around for a long time
What motivates you to get up in the morning and work? My motivation is that I will do good for my workplace, the people around me, or a fellow citizen. It is the feeling that I get to contribute to an organization or profession that is either trying to serve others or be profitable so other can have jobs. Every person has value and you would not be hired for a job if you weren't needed for the success of an organization or others around you. It's all about giving. And then it is all about receiving - because hopefully you will be doing something you are passionate about and your are meeting your personal satisfaction goals of doing something every day you enjoy. Work can be meaningful and fun

What helps when your feeling stressed at work are with at-home situations? It sounds strange, but you have to try and separate them if you can. Once you get in the work environment and start your work day - if you can put those stresses aside and deal with them off the clock - that is best. I know - easier said then done. If the at home stresses are that significant - you need to ask for time off to deal with it and then go back. I have a leadership rule that says: If you are below your comfort level - take action to move it up. You work best in your comfort level and if those stresses are bring you below your comfort level - you need to take action to solve it best you can

What is Comunicaton like with co-workers as your on the job - Communication varies - but no matter what - you should always be positive, civil, and cooperative. Every person sets the example in an interaction. If the person you are communicating with is negative or aggressive - try not to go to their level. Always keep the high ground, stay true to yourself, and communicate with others in a productive manner
