The steps Rebecca provided are incredibly important!

From personal experience, I would add that finding balance could hold the key to success. Our brains enjoy the diversity, the ability to flex creativity along different avenues. Being able to spend part of your time on deep, concentrated study while using remaining time to support & enable others on their personal impact journey, won't just be rewarding, it'll also allow you to make connections, and cross-pollinate learnings and benefits across both pursuits. From developing unique learning strategies that will inform how you help others develop their own unique learning strategies, to teaching some of the content you learn, to much less straightforward connections only your brain & mind will be able to make.

So.. Long term, balance, but also moderation, will help you unlock yourself to the best of your potential for both pursuits ♡

Rebecca’s Answer

Thank you for your question. I am glad to hear that you help the orphan and vulnerable children. This is more a time management.
Below is my suggestions :
1. You can identify a time management tool to help, e.g. your phone calendar, MS outlook, etc.
2. Put in the time you need to attend school
3. Allocate the time you need to complete the assignment/projects, daily revision, etc.
4. You can then assign the time to the orphan and vulnerable children. You can consider to do it using your weekends.
5. Make sure you have enough time to rest. Also, you may need to assign some time to do some exercise, leisure, family & friends gathering, etc.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Hi, Michael,
First, I do admire what you are doing. Impressive and admirable, and exciting too, I'm sure. You have a big time management challenge, and I see the other advisors have provided excellent suggestions, so I will attempt to augment theirs somewhat.
- To balance your time, I suggest developing a written matrix of your time allotments. Having your schedule in print helps you focus on your priorities. Plus, if the initial assessment isn't working, you can see where to make adjustments
- in creating a time management matrix, be sure to include time away from work and helping others. That is, you still need some free time to unwind, relax, enjoy a diversion. It is this personal time that helps you stay in balance with your other goals.
- be sure also to factor in time to stay healthy: time to eat without stress, adequate sleep time, and some exercise. This helps you stay focused on your life. Your being healthy and refreshed each day will help you always face each day with purpuse.

I wish you the very best in your pursuits.
