How long did it take you to become a forensic psychologist?
About how many years did it take you to become licensed/have the degrees necessary to become a forensic psychologist? Were you able to join as a forensic psychologist right away, or did you have to join a starter career and work your way up?

Depends on the avenue you want to take. If you want to do lab work, 4 year degree + additional 4 years of schooling.
If you wanted to work in law enforcement, 4 year degree + criminal justice degree.
Narrow your field of interest (psychological, behavioral, lab sciences, etc.)

Future forensic psychologists complete a four-year bachelor’s degree, two years for a master’s degree, and four-to-five years for their doctoral degree.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), psychologists earn a median salary of about $81,000 per year. Additionally, Payscale notes an average $73,381 salary for forensic psychologists.
