Hello Miguel,
There are many answers out there to choose from. What I think you should do first is look into what you like to do and not look at what will make me the most money or the richest. Think about what you enjoy and what peaks your interest the most. When I grew up I always enjoyed helping people and teaching people how to do things. I knew at a very young age I didn't want to be a teacher though so I decided that working in business was the route to take. Just know that when you enjoy something it doesn't mean that there is only one option available. If you like police work there are tons of other jobs and positions you can take that align with police work. There are options for criminal degrees that are 4 year degrees and 2 year degrees as well if you decided on the college path.

There are so many options out there and you can have multiple careers in your lifetime. There are career aptitude tests you can take to see what might be a good fit (which you can get from your guidance counselor). Also, you can take general courses or classes if you go to college that will expose you to a lot of different ideas. You can take your time and figure out what your path is and where it will take you. You can take a look at this resource that does projections and predictions on different industries across the US to get an idea of where job growth may be in the coming years: https://www.bls.gov/eag/home.htm.
Volunteering or taking an internship can also give you insight into what a career in a certain industry or role might be like.

Miguel, it is very common for people to change their minds on what they want to do for a career in life. Sometimes even into their 30's and 40's. Think about why you wanted to be a police officer and maybe ask your local department if you can do a ride along.
