What to do because I want to shift my college course?

Hello Everyone! I'm a second year college student now taking up bachelor of arts in political science and I'm not happy with this current course of mine. I just want to confirm if it's possible to shift into a nursing course regarding this situation?

Hi, Snow,
The good news is that you are making this discovery now and not later. When following the wrong direction, it is always the smart decision to change as soon as possible. If your college offers nursing courses, then I suggest going immediately to your guidance counselor to work up a plan to transfer you to that program and to evaluate how best to apply credits earned so far. The college doesn't want to lose you as a student and will work with you to make this happen. If your college doesn't have a nursing program, then immediately approach a school that does, and they can help you make the appropriate adjustments. Do this now, salvage as much of the remaining semester as possible. You will be glad once it is done. All the best to you in your pursuit of a nursing career. The world needs more nurses and you'll do well.

Yes!

The courses you have already taken can also transfer for some of the basic requirement classes needed in nursing school. However, I would highly recommend you speak with an advisor as soon as possible if you want to switch to a nursing degree path. Most nursing schools have a waitlist because of a shortage in nurse educators. If you do need to be placed on a waitlist to take nursing classes, you can at least make sure you are taking the core classes needed now while you wait for a seat to open up.

If you are working while going to school I would strongly suggest seeking a position in a healthcare facility to get the experience of a healthcare environment. For example, working as a receptionist will expose you to the equipment, procedures, and medical terminology. This will be very beneficial when you do take nursing classes so that not everything is totally foreign to you. Best of luck!
