To earn a Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD), you need to spend at least four years in pharmacy school. This can be shortened to 3 years if you go to a school with classes throughout the summer.
Most pharmacy schools only require their students to have two years of prerequisites completed. They do not require a bachelor's degree. However, many students choose to finish undergrad and earn a bachelor's degree. Some pharmacy schools also merge their two years of prerequisites and PharmD program into a six-year program. Many of these schools start straight out of high school.
The most direct way to become a pharmacist is to enter one of these six-year programs. However, they do come with some downsides. For starters, they are more challenging straight out of high school. Additionally, they do not give you much room to change your mind about your profession. I was always believed that determining what you want to do for the rest of your life when you're in high school is a lot. Many of these schools also only take students directly out of high school, and you cannot transfer into them if you decide on pharmacy after your first semester of school.
Best of luck,
