Oh so so so much can be said here. You can put so much emotion into art. The way you draw a curve of a branch . Colors of a sky. You don't honestly need colors . Charcoal black and white. You can make an object as soft as you like it's now light and airy ..soft, floating away...that object is content and careless . You can make it rough outlined give it aggressiveness a little edginess. Don't limit yourself to only colors for feeling and emotion. And when you are practicing your art and creating. Don't think too much and just let our body flow how it wants and create what it feels. *Fyi...I can't draw or paint I just really enjoy art, my daughter is the artist and she said it just happens when you let go*

Joanne’s Answer

It is definitely true that art can be very therapeutic and most pieces of art are a response to something emotional within an artist. The hardest type of art to create is something where you don’t have an emotional connection. I love the research part before creating a piece, the mind mapping, experimenting and looking at how other artists have responded to a similar topic. You can pick colours intuitively but there is definitely a science behind what colours work well together. Have a look at colour theory and research abstract artists as a starting point. Often abstract art looks so like little thought has gone in to a composition and there in lies the genius. Creating work that looks effortless but has a very detailed process
