Hi Savannah -

I'm excited to hear you want to pursue a career in business and accounting. That is a great choice since accounting is a great foundation to understand how a lot of different businesses work and there are many different fields you can go into with an accounting degree. The website below has a great list of the top accounting schools in the U.S. I'd also perform a search to find these schools locally. I would also suggest looking into local area scholarships (try the Lions Club, Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce) to help you afford the school of your choice. I found that applying for local scholarships gave me much more success than trying to apply to national organizations since local ones always want to sponsor local students.

Best of luck to you!
Thank you comment icon Hi Savannah, I recommend staying in state to reduce your tuition expenses, but don't let that stop you from pursuing scholarships in other states. I went to Colorado State University and had a great experience. Wherever you end up, be sure to take advantage of your school's career services and get started early with resume and interview workshops, etc. Lauren Kmetz

At PwC we recruit heavily from UC-B, UC-Davis, Sonoma State, SF State, Calpoly, UCSB and San Jose State. Some of the listed schools do not have accounting programs; however, the schools offer classes in accounting and have strong business programs that are recruited by the B4 accounting firms and top consulting firms (MBB). I would consider visiting the campuses to get a better sense of what undergraduate life is like and whether you fit the culture of the school!
