To excel in a PhD program interview and simulation in clinical psychology, thoroughly research the program, reflect on your experiences, and practice common interview questions. For the simulation, apply your clinical knowledge, demonstrate problem-solving skills, and handle stress effectively. Maintain professionalism, be open to feedback, and prepare insightful questions. These strategies will help you present yourself as a strong, well-prepared candidate.
Thank you so much for this advice Lirio, this is very helpful.

Victoria,
Having an advanced degree in clinical psychology/neuropsychology, as you know, will serve you well. First and foremost, be yourself. The interview committee is attempting to see if you are a match for the program, just as you are trying to see if the program fits you. Be prepared to do the following:
1. Discuss your interest in the area
2. Discuss how your research/interests matches the faculty within the program (Look at the latest articles that each instructor has published and their current/in-progress work).
3. Discuss what led you to clinical psychology/neuropsychology
4. Discuss any research you have conducted / worked on with another faculty member
5. Discuss teaching experience (Can you serve as a teaching assistant, TA?)
6. How do you handle stress and multiple tasks?
.
This is by far not an exhaustive list; you may or may not be asked some of the questions. Finally, you could ask if it is possible to speak with a student in the program. It is nice to get a student's perspective.
I hope this helps
